Gigi is a wedding inspiration and planning application ("Gigi", "we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we store it, and how you can remove it.
Gigi handles personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws. This policy describes what we collect, why, and the choices you have over your information.
| Category | What it includes | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Email address, display name, authentication identifier | To create your account and let you sign in |
| Content you create | Saved images, boards, notes, budget figures, guest names, supplier details, wedding date | To provide the core planning features of the app |
| Pinterest data | Board names, Pin images, Pin titles, Pin descriptions, Pin source links, and your Pinterest user ID | To import inspiration you have already saved on Pinterest into your Gigi plan |
| Technical data | Device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs | To diagnose faults and keep the app working |
We do not collect payment card details. We do not collect precise location data. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Connecting Pinterest is optional. Gigi works fully without it.
If you choose to connect your Pinterest account, you are taken to Pinterest's own authorisation screen where you grant Gigi permission. Gigi requests read-only scopes only:
boards:read — to list the boards on your account so you can choose which to importpins:read — to read the Pins on the boards you selectuser_accounts:read — to identify which Pinterest account is connectedWe import the Pins from the boards you select and store them against your Gigi account, so they appear alongside the rest of your saved inspiration. We retain the original Pin source link so you can return to the original.
Your Pinterest access token is stored encrypted at rest and is used solely to make requests to the Pinterest API on your behalf. You may disconnect Gigi at any time from within the app, or from your Pinterest account settings under Apps and devices. When you disconnect, we revoke and delete the stored token. You may separately choose to delete the Pins already imported into Gigi.
Our use of the Pinterest API is subject to the Pinterest Developer Terms. Where this policy conflicts with those terms in respect of Pinterest data, those terms prevail.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content for advertising.
We use a small number of third-party providers to run the service. They process data on our instructions only.
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication and file storage |
| Expo | Application build, delivery and crash reporting |
| Source of imported inspiration, where you connect it |
Data is stored on managed infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted to those who need it to operate the service.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information and content within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records by law. Backups are purged on a rolling cycle within 90 days.
